TRANSPARENCY

The selection of sustainable and transparently produced raw materials is the basis for trustworthy finished cosmetic products. This requires not only transparency of the upstream supply chain but also systematic analysis of the product's impact on nature and environment.

Product Carbon Footprint (PCF - cradle-to-customer plus end-of life approach) and Product Water Footprint (PWF - water risk assessment and blue, green and grey water footprint from cultivation to manufacturing of finished product) assessments become integral part of our innovation strategy.

We track in-bound and out-bound transportation (well-to-wheel approach) and we strive for continuous improvement. We prioritise long-term partnerships and collaboration with local manufacturers. As a result more than 90 % of the RAHN-Cosmetic Actives are produced in Switzerland and Germany.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

At RAHN-Cosmetic Actives, we strive to protect the environment by respecting biodiversity and restoring natural habitats. Our active ingredients are not derived from rare, protected, or endangered plants (CITES). The sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity is also ensured by the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilisation. We use renewable agricultural resources, upcycling- and repurposed materials, or controlled wild collection. For our production processes we pay attention on heat and energy consumption.
All our actives are readily or inherently biodegradable, without microplastics and are completely harmless for water and land eco-systems. Thanks to dedicated partnerships, we take social responsibility and we involve all stakeholders finding a join approach for sustainable business patterns.
